Hey mama, Boy, have I got a story to tell you... So, not too long ago, I posted a Reel on Instagram that highlighted the fact that there are a group of birth workers that are making a change in the birth culture and making a positive impact for those of us choosing to give birth in a hospital. On that Reel, I got a comment from someone I'd never met before. The comment read " hiii I'm part of the change after I was treated poorly as a patient...I became an OBGYN and I'm different." I HAD to know more. It turns out that this mama/OBGYN had a traumatic C-Section experience for her first birth and went on to have FOUR successful VBACs afterwards. Not only that, but her first doctor had diagnosed her with Cephalopelvic Disproportion (CPD) and told her that she was unable to give birth vaginally. If only he could see her now! Four vaginal births later and she's learned that not only could she birth babies vaginally but that they were 9-10 lb babies! If you want to hear her story and some advice that she has for women in a similar position, come listen to this week's podcast episode where she shares her perspective as a mom of five and an OBGYN who's making a change. This one, you're not going to want to miss. >>>https://alifeinlabor.com/from-a-traumatic-birth-to-4-successful-vbacs/ Xo, Heather This Week:Next Steps: |

Hey Reader, After over a decade of helping women during the birth of their babies as a labor and delivery nurse, I've learned a lot... Today I looked back at some of the very first pieces of advice that I shared with moms online in the very early days of sharing birth education online...and do you know what I found? I found that the advice I gave then—as a brand new birth educator who'd only been a nurse for a handful of years—is still relevant today. ...is the same advice I would give today....
